Youth Education
ANTIOCH
MINISTRY LEADER: ELLEN NUNEZ
Antioch is an annual youth retreat for teens put on by teens. It is a fun and rewarding way to deepen your faith and relationship with God and to form strong bonds with other Catholic teens. It begins on a Friday evening and ends on a Sunday afternoon. You will stay with host families in our parish. This retreat weekend has limited space for participants. Volunteers over age 18 need VIRTUS training and a background check. The next Antioch Weekend will be in January 2014.
HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP
MINISTRY LEADER: NATE FOLDS
Are you in high school? Are you Catholic? Then, you should be a part of the parish's High School Youth Group! Learn and pray with other teenagers who are trying to make sense of their lives, just like you. For more details, e-mail us or find us on Facebook.
High school graduates/adults who are willing to work with teens as chaperones, discussion leaders and role models are needed to help with this ministry. The High School Youth Group meets every other week on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Youth Room and other times as scheduled. Volunteers should have a sense of humor and a good listening ear. Volunteers must be over the age of 18, VIRTUS trained and complete a background check. There is also a need for volunteers to help with food, fundraising and other tasks.
MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP
MINISTRY LEADER: TONYA SEGUIN
The Middle School Youth Group meets regularly through the year on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. We gather from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Youth Room and Visitation Hall. Occasionally, we meet on weekends or other weeknights for service projects or social gatherings. Youth Group meetings are a relaxed, social time to hang out in a safe environment and enjoy music, participate in activities, enjoy snacks, play games, meet new friends and much more. We will take time at Youth Group to recognize God for all He has given us and to share in prayer.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
The children’s religious education program at St. Anne Church provides faith development for children ages preschool (4 years old) through eighth grade, teaching the person of Jesus Christ as well as the prayers, practices and traditions of our Catholic faith. Classes meet Sundays from 9 to 10:20 a.m. and are held from August through May. Families should be registered members of the parish to participate, and registration of the children is required. Sunday School registration forms are available at the desk in the Commons Area of the church, and should be completed and returned to the Parish Office.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
MINISTRY LEADER: EMILY ELLISON
Vacation Bible School (VBS) offers an exciting educational program that brings our youth closer to Jesus Christ. It takes place for one week during the summer from 9 a.m. until noon. Volunteers are needed to help make snacks, oversee arts and crafts, register children and decorate. Planning meetings will be held prior to VBS. Rising 6th graders and up are invited to volunteer. VIRTUS training and a background check are needed for those over age 18.
