Our Patron Saint
About Saint Anne
Saint Anne is venerated by the Church as the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the grandmother of Jesus Christ. Married to Saint Joachim, Saint Anne has been honored from early Christian times. Tradition, grounded in very old testimonies, says Sts. Joachim and Anne in their old age came from Galilee to settle in Jerusalem, where Mary was born and raised. St. Anne's name comes from the Hebrew name Hannah, which means "grace." St. Anne's feast is celebrated on July 26.
